Promoting the development of science, technology and digital transformation in the fields of agriculture and environment

In order to concretize the province's Project, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tay Ninh province has developed a Plan to implement breakthrough tasks in science, technology development, innovation and digital transformation for the period 2025-2030.

Accordingly, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tay Ninh province identified the key goal as raising awareness, renewing thinking, creating comprehensive changes in the entire industry, from state management to production and business in the fields of agriculture and environment. The plan aims to form digital agriculture, smart agriculture, agriculture adapting to climate change, while promoting the development of a green economy, a circular economy, and an environmentally friendly economy.

One of the key tasks is to promote digital transformation in the industry's operations, including providing online public services, receiving and returning administrative procedure results via public post, digitizing records and making online payments.

Tay Ninh Department of Agriculture and Environment will also complete and update specialized databases, connect and share data to the province's Intelligent Operation System (IOC); research the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in professional support, and improve work efficiency.

Notably, the Plan emphasizes the strong application of science, technology and innovation in agricultural production. Specifically, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tay Ninh province will support businesses, cooperatives and farming households in applying digital technology, big data, and the Internet of Things (IoT) in the production, processing and consumption of agricultural products; deploy a smart insect monitoring model on fruit trees, build software for managing and consuming durian products, promote agricultural products on e-commerce platforms, and contribute to expanding the consumption market.

At the same time, the Tay Ninh Department of Agriculture and Environment will strengthen cooperation, training, and technology transfer with institutes, schools, research centers, and enterprises inside and outside the province; build an intellectual property development program in the agricultural sector; support the registration, protection, management, and exploitation of trademarks and geographical indications for typical products such as durian, asparagus, custard apple, cassava, etc.

Regarding infrastructure, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tay Ninh province will invest in and upgrade equipment, transmission lines, and information technology infrastructure to serve digital transformation in the entire industry; ensuring information security and network security during the implementation process.

The total budget for implementing the Plan for the 2025-2030 period is more than 255 billion VND, from the State budget allocated to the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Tay Ninh Province./.
