Chairman of Long An People's Committee - Tran Van Can instructs departments, agencies, localities to coordinate to complete the socio-economic development targets at the highest level.

In the first 6 months of 2020, under the leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, the comprehensive direction and administration with the concentration and focus of the Provincial People's Committee, the supervision of the Provincial People's Council together with the joint efforts of all levels and sectors, the development in a number of socio-economic fields continued to achieve positive results.

However, due to the complicated and unpredictable situation, drought and salinity in Covid-19 epidemic caused many difficulties, affecting the local socio-economic development. The economic growth rate is lower than the same period in 2019 (1.12 percent compared to 9.33 percent), some socio-economic, security and order fields are still limited. Investment attraction encountered difficulties, the number of established businesses and registered capital decreased compared to the same period. Enterprises stopped operating and dissolved increased over the same period, the number of domestic and foreign investment projects decreased. Progress of infrastructure investment in industrial parks and complexes is still slow; site clearance has been focused on implementation, but overall progress has not reached the set requirements.

In addition, a number of branches, localities and units implement the main targets in the Action Plan to implement the Resolution of the Government, the Provincial Party Committee and the provincial People's Council on the socio-economic development tasks in 2020 is lower than planned and the same period.

The implementation of the tasks, conclusions and direction of the Provincial People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee assigned a number of branches, localities and units to complete with a low rate; Some tasks are slow to be implemented.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directs each departments, units, branches and localities to coordinate and concentrate on solving problems and difficulties related. Units shall base themselves on their functions and tasks to work out specific plans and solutions to work together with the province to fulfill the local socio-economic development targets.

In addition, the Chairman emphasized that the province will not adjust its socio-economic development targets but strive to achieve the highest level. The task for the last 6 months of 2020, the province must revive the growth targets, at least achieve growth of over 5 percent to meet the targets of the Resolution of the Congress and the 5-year state plan.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee proposed the Provincial Border Guard Command to closely inspect the border line, especially prohibiting entry and exit across the border, to prevent the occurrence of Covid-19 disease in the area. Leaders of departments, branches and localities must comply with the working regulations of the provincial People's Committee, regularly update new documents. Department of Health cares about the quality of medical staff and doctors today. Department of Education and Training focuses on organizing high school graduation exams in 2020, etc./.
