Long An Provincial People's Committee works with Asian Development Bank on human resource training

Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee - Pham Tan Hoa chaired the meeting. As for the ADB delegation, it is headed by Senior Social Sector Expert - Fook Yen Chong. Also attending the meeting were Director of Department of Market and Enterprise Development, Ministry of Science and Technology - Pham Hong Quat; leaders of relevant departments, branches and units.

Through the meeting, the representative of the ADB Delegation summarized the contents of the ADB project preparation process in Vietnam. In particular, ADB's lending strategy prioritizes activities: poverty, inequality, and climate change; rural development and food security; cooperation, regional integration, etc.

Previously, the delegation had an online meeting with relevant departments, branches and units to prepare working content between provincial leaders and ADB. The parties agreed to coordinate in developing a project on human resource training in the province's semiconductor industry.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee - Pham Tan Hoa thanked ADB for their support in training and developing human resources in the province. He also provided basic information about the general situation and the need for high-quality human resource training to attract investment and socio-economic development of the province.

Accordingly, the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee requested that ADB agree on the contents of support and loans for the project on human resource training in the province's semiconductor industry to submit to the Government for approval, then set out a roadmap to implement of ADB's loan project in Vietnam.

Through exchange and discussion, ADB will coordinate with Long An to develop aproject on human resource training in the province's semiconductor industry on 4 contents: program; training curriculum; expert; workshop and learning equipment.

The delegation also agreed on the roadmap to implement the ADB project and support the province to borrow ODA capital to fund the implementation of the project, focusing on the semiconductor field./.
