Leaders of Long An Provincial People's Committee receives Asian Development Bank delegation

Also attending the meeting were representatives of Department of Market and Enterprise Development, Ministry of Science and Technology, representatives of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Delegation, and Saigon Telecommunications Technology Joint Stock Company(SaigonTel); leaders of provincial departments and branches.

At the meeting, SaigonTel representative advised and proposed a plan for the province's human resource development program. In particular, a preliminary assessment of the current situation shows that the province's human resources is abundant but the quality is not high, the rate of training with degrees and certificates is still low, and there is a lack of technical and skilled human resources for industrial and agricultural development.

The unit proposed solutions to: update training programs according to the needs of high-tech businesses, focusing on training in green knowledge and skills; create an interactive learning environment, access to technology, and encourage research and creativity; train and foster to improve the quality of lecturers; focus on international linkage, cooperation, assessment and quality assurance; create space to encourage research and innovation among students, etc to improve the quality of human resource training in the province.

Representative of Department of Market and Enterprise Development introduced the Innovation Center and the strategy to attract international resources to develop an innovation ecosystem, develop green skills, and innovative start-up skills for human resources in Vietnam, including human resources from Long An province.

Representatives of the ADB delegation introduced projects supporting the development of education and vocational training implemented in the world and in Vietnam. In the immediate future, ADB - SaigonTel will research, advise and support localities to update training programs for occupational groups: environment, high-tech agriculture, renewable energy, etc. These are the needed occupations yet vocational education institutions have not yet implemented training.

Representative of Valey Campus Saigon Company introduced the model of training high-tech agricultural human resources in real environment and the information technology human resource training program according to Japanese standards.

Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee - Pham Tan Hoa expressed his joy and thanked the delegation for coming to work in Long An. The province committed to jointly implementing the discussed contents for the goal of green growth, to ensure regional links, especially with neighboring provinces such as Ho Chi Minh City, Tien Giang, and Dong Thap, to create a cohesive bloc to create truly better and more effective products.

Besides, Long An needs three support solutions in terms of policy, technique and investment. Long An is committed to influencing the Government so that projects implemented in the province shorten time and bring high efficiency.

To realize the discussed contents, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee proposed to appoint expert groups to regularly discuss, build a roadmap, determine each year's steps and how to achieve the goal as soon as possible./.
