Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh attends Groundbreaking Ceremony of Eco Retreat Urban, Commercial and Tourism Complex

On April 19, the government simultaneously held online groundbreaking and inauguration ceremonies for major projects across the North, Central, and South regions of Vietnam, in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025).

The Eco Retreat project is one of five key initiatives launched or completed in Long An Province, expected to make a significant mark in urban development, attract investment, and promote socio-economic deveplopment in the region.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Van Quyet, Deputy Party Secretary and Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Van Ut, as well as former provincial leaders from various terms.

This is a project expected to promote urban, economic and social development in the province

The Eco Retreat ecological, commercial, and tourism urban area in Thanh Phu Commune, Ben Luc District is being developed by a joint venture between DB Investment and Development One Member Co., Ltd. and Ecopark Group Joint Stock Company. The project covers over 220 hectares, with a total investment of nearly 17 trillion VND.

Representative of the investor shared details about the project's development process

According to the investor, the project holds strategic significance in shaping and developing a model urban ecosystem. It aims to ensure a balance between economic growth, community well-being, and environmental sustainability; provides a high-quality living environment in harmony with nature; include comprehensive facilities for commerce, services, education, healthcare, and tourism to meet the demands of green and sustainable urbanization.

In his speech at the national online ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh praised the tireless efforts of workers who followed the spirit of "three shifts, four crews," overcoming heat and rain to meet construction deadlines. He also commended the thorough preparations for the launch of major strategic projects in commemoration of the reunification anniversary.

The Prime Minister called on ministries, sectors, and localities, which serve as project management agencies, as well as investors, to swiftly organize operations and begin project exploitation to maximize investment efficiency. For newly launched projects, he urged investors and contractors to promptly mobilize equipment and manpower, accelerate progress, maintain quality, and bring the projects into operation soon to serve the public./.
