Member of Provincial Party Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Minh Lam welcomed the Consul General of Cuba in Ho Chi Minh City - Ariadne Feo Labrada and members of the delegation.. At the same time, he introduced a number of potentials, advantages and economic development orientations to attract investment of the province.

Informing Ms. Ariadne Feo Labrada, Mr. Nguyen Minh Lam said that in 2023, Long An achieved many positive results in many fields. Economic growth rate (GRDP) reached 5.77%, ranking 5th in the Southeast Region, 7th in the Mekong Delta Region and 39th in the country. Economic scale ranked 13th in the country with 168,108 billion VND. The province currently has 51 industrial parks with a total planned area of 12,433 hectares; including 26 industrial parks qualified to receive investment with a planned area of 5,982.14 hectares.

Mr. Lam also affirmed that Vietnam and Cuba are brothers with a long tradition. Senior leaders of Vietnam as well as Long An province always consider Cuba as a brother.

In November 2023, the Long An Provincial Delegation organized trade and investment promotion in Cuba. The business trip introduced the province's investment environment and connected cooperation opportunities between Long An businesses and Cuban businesses.

Mr. Lam also added that the province will continue to promote cooperation with diplomatic agencies, organizations and associations of Cuba to introduce and connect Vietnamese businesses to invest in Cuba, focusing mainly on construction materials and healthcare. At the same time, the province will  connect businesses of Long An province and local businesses of Cuba to promote trade and investment cooperation in the future.

Consul General of Cuba in Ho Chi Minh City - Ariadne Feo Labrada also expressed her desire to strengthen cooperation between Cuba and Long An, especially in the fields of agriculture, education, healthcare, etc. She said that, after this meeting, she will provide full information about procedures, documents, conditions, etc so that Long An students can easily access study opportunities in Cuba.

The reception and working session took place in an open and friendly atmosphere. The two sides agreed to continue to strengthen cooperation, exchange information and create favorable conditions for students to study and develop the economy, bringing practical benefits to the people of the two countries./.
