The year 2024 marks an important step forward in the development of Long An tourism. For the first time, the province welcomed more than 2.5 million visitors in a year with a total revenue of 1,300 billion VND, reaching 185% of the plan. This is the result of the continuous efforts of the Tourism Promotion Information Center and the consensus of departments, branches, businesses and localities in the province.

Over the past year, the Tourism Promotion Information Center has implemented many diverse activities to promote the image of Long An tourism to domestic and foreign tourists. The construction of media products such as video clips, tourism photos, tourism maps based on the application of 3D/360o interactive Virtual Reality technology to introduce historical relics, cultural heritages, and tourist destinations presented in 3 bilingual languages ​​(Vietnamese - English, Vietnamese - Japanese, Vietnamese - Korean) contributes to vividly and attractively introducing the province's destinations as well as bringing the image of Long An tourism closer to international friends.

In the current period, when digital technology is increasingly popular, the center has proactively transformed tourism digitally. In particular, the effective operation of the Digital Map of routes and facilities serving tourism in Long An province; Forum for introducing, exchanging, and producing agricultural products serving tourism; Forum for exchanging OCOP products, Long An rural tourism products, Information Portal and smart tourism mobile applications.

On these applications and websites, tourists can find necessary information about Long An tourism such as locations, directions, accommodation as well as shopping for OCOP products of the province. This helps tourists understand clearly and easily have a safe and quality journey when traveling to Long An.

Traveling with friends from Ho Chi Minh City to Tan Lap Floating Village Tourist Area, Dang Huynh Phuong Vy (student of Hung Vuong University (Ho Chi Minh City)) said that they learned about information and directions through websites introducing Long An tourism. Thanks to those instructions, they had an interesting, safe and economical journey.

This includes participating in activities, fairs, and tourism events in other localities; organizing famtrips, supporting businesses to survey routes and tourist destinations in the province as well as participating in booths within the framework of tourism festivals in other provinces.

“In particular, in 2024, Long An attended the 2024 TPO Regional Conference for Vietnamese members in Lam Dong province. This is a good opportunity to bring the province's tourism image closer to international friends. In addition, the Tourism Promotion Center also promoted and advertised Long An rural tourism in key tourism markets such as Kon Tum, Phu Yen, Lam Dong, etc. ”- Director of the Tourism Promotion Center - Truong Van Sang said.

Contributing to the success of the culture - sports - tourism week

In addition to promoting and advertising the image of Long An tourism, promoting the development of typical tourism products and improving the quality of human resources are also important factors to attract and retain tourists.

According to Dr. Le Hong Vuong (Van Hien University), human resources are a particularly important factor that creates the impression and attraction of each destination. However, human resources are also a limiting factor of Long An tourism. Therefore, focusing on training human resources is needed to promote the development of Long An tourism.

Understanding that, the Tourism Promotion Center focuses on training human resources to build a team of professional and quality tour guides at the destination. In 2024, the province coordinated with units and localities, especially universities and colleges, to organize many training courses to improve skills in tourism, agricultural tourism, and rural tourism startups for about 500 students. In addition, the center also sends specialists to participate in courses to improve and enhance professional capacity.

In addition to promoting outstanding ecotourism areas and destinations, the Tourism Promotion Information Center also promotes rural tourism, river tourism, and tourism development associated with promoting the value of historical relics in the province.

Moreover, the Tourism Promotion Information Center coordinates with the Provincial Tourism Association to accompany and encourage businesses to continuously develop new products and services, creating attraction for tourists. Notably, discount activities, promotions and new service launches were held simultaneously throughout the 2nd Long An Province Culture - Sports - Tourism Week in 2024.

With synchronous efforts and solutions, the Tourism Promotion Center contributed to promoting the development of Long An tourism and the success of the 2nd Long An Province Culture - Sports - Tourism Week in 2024 - a prominent cultural and tourism event of the province, marking the progress of Long An tourism.

During the 7 days of the event, more than 500,000 domestic and international tourists were immersed in cultural, artistic, commercial and tourism events with the message "Long An tourism is safe, friendly and attractive".

The 2nd Long An Province Culture - Sports - Tourism Week in 2024 contributed to increasing the number of tourists to the province in 2024 and for the first time exceeded the 2 million mark. In 2024, Long An welcomed more than 2.5 million visitors, an increase of 2.5 times over the same period, reaching 192% of the plan, including about 32,000 international visitors. Tourism revenue reached 1,300 billion VND, an increase of 2.3 times over the same period, reaching 185% of the plan.
