Trade promotion programs help promote Tay Ninh OCOP products
Application of science and technology in the production of OCOP products
The whole province currently has 392 valid OCOP products, including 1 5-star, 73 4-star, and 318 3-star products. With increasingly strict market requirements, in order to improve competitiveness and ensure rapid and sustainable development, the application of science and technology in production is extremely necessary. The province's functional sectors have supported entities from management, tracing the origin of products to encouraging the application of advanced technology in production, processing, and preservation, thanks to which the value of the province's OCOP products has been increasingly enhanced, affirming their brand in the market.
Hong Minh rice paper production facility (Long Hoa ward) has been in operation since 2019, in which the products are produced in a closed chain. The rice paper is spread and dried completely by a modern, automatic machinery system. Mr. Nguyen Khac Minh, the owner of the facility, said, "The first effectiveness of using machinery in production is profit; secondly, the product will be very clean to ensure export criteria in the world market as well as its competitiveness compared to other products produced manually. Using machinery completely to produce products will ensure better food hygiene and safety, meeting the strict standards of demanding markets such as America, Japan, Australia, etc."

Modern production process, ensuring food hygiene and safety of Tra Tam Lan One Member Co., Ltd.
Tra Tam Lan One Member Co., Ltd. currently has 4 products certified as 4-star OCOP products. In addition, the company's products have been certified as high-quality Vietnamese products voted by consumers for 14 consecutive years. To achieve these certifications, the company's product production process follows a closed-loop process, ensuring food hygiene and safety. Ms. Vo Thi Lan - Director of Tam Lan Tea One Member Co., Ltd., said, “All raw materials used to make Tam Lan tea are grown by the company itself, and the input materials brought into the factory for processing must be green and clean. In particular, since 2022, the company has put into use a new GMP-ISO 22000:2018 standard factory, which contributes to creating quality products. Currently, in addition to the domestic market, our products are present in many international markets, such as Korea, the US, and Australia.”
In addition, the province is currently implementing support mechanisms and policies, prioritizing the use of capital from national target programs and preferential credit sources to promote production, business, and the development of OCOP products.

In particular, with the 4.0 Revolution, e-commerce has developed, and many businesses in the province have proactively participated in training courses, approached and learned customer attraction skills, strategies for building and developing short videos, livestream sales skills, etc. to bring products to social networks and e-commerce platforms, opening up new markets, new sources of customers, and new cooperation opportunities. In addition, the Department of Agriculture and Environment also coordinated with e-commerce platforms Postmart and Voso to support farmers and cooperatives in accessing online markets, organized and participated in many fairs and forums connecting OCOP products in Ho Chi Minh City, An Giang, Thai Nguyen, etc., thereby expanding the consumption network and trade cooperation opportunities.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Xuan, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, said, “Tay Ninh province has also organized many activities to first create OCOP-certified products, then strengthen the promotion and trading of these products. To have many such products, we have also advised the Provincial People's Committee to issue OCOP support policies. For example, support in costs for completing legal procedures or costs for displaying and introducing products; support in packaging, labels, etc.”
Implementing economic cooperation and linkage between Ho Chi Minh City and localities across the country, in recent times, Tay Ninh province has coordinated with Saigon Co.op to promote, introduce, and supply consumers with the province's specialties. In particular, Saigon Co.op has proactively sought and expanded product supply sources according to consumer demand; built documents and guided businesses, cooperatives, farmers, and local production facilities on the necessary and sufficient conditions to quickly bring OCOP products into the system. In particular, not only serving the domestic market, Saigon Co.op will fully exploit the export strategic partner NTUC FairPrice to bring Tay Ninh specialties to the international market.

Mr. Hoang Long, Director of the Southeast and Tay Ninh regions of Saigon Co.op, said, "Bringing OCOP products into the system is a big goal of Saigon Co.op. Recently, we have also implemented an area displaying OCOP products of the locality and neighboring localities to cross-sell products, introduce to consumers and raise the spirit of Vietnamese people to prioritize Vietnamese products."
In addition, to promote the development of OCOP products, the province has many mechanisms and policies to support the development of traditional, key and advantageous products in each locality; strengthen promotional activities at fairs, exhibitions, domestic and regional trade promotion programs; and establish 10 display points for OCOP products, contributing to connecting the market, supporting the consumption of products inside and outside the province.
It can be seen that promoting trade promotion of OCOP products is a necessary factor to connect and bring products closer to consumers to stimulate consumption, promote production, contribute positively to socio-economic development, and increase people's income. Therefore, in the coming time, the province will continue to effectively implement the OCOP Program, linked with the program of building new rural areas and developing rural tourism; encourage the development of unique OCOP products with competitive advantages; promote cooperatives, enterprises, and production households to expand their scale; invest in processing and preservation technology to improve the quality and added value of products; encourage production establishments to pay attention to brand identity; develop e-commerce, digital economy, and sharing economy to spread products to the market.
Along with that, the province will also strengthen trade promotion, advertising, connecting product consumption, and supporting OCOP producers to develop markets, expand exports, contribute to job creation, increase income, and improve the lives of rural people./.
