The festival, as part of events held in relation to the 2019 National Tourism Year, will feature the participation of 15 provinces and cities that possess UNESCO-recognised intangible cultural heritages of humanity.
The event will promote Vietnam’s traditional culture identities that are appreciated by international friends, including Nha Nhac cung dinh Hue (Hue royal court music), Cong chieng Tay Nguyen (Central Highland gong), Quan ho Bac Ninh (Bac Ninh love duet singing), ca tru (ceremonial singing), Xoan singing, don ca tai tu (a traditional musical art form of the south), Vi-Giam folk singing and bai choi singing (a popular folklore style of singing in the central and south central regions of Vietnam).
The participating groups will join a parade on the streets as well as give performances to serve local people, visitors and the Navy Region 4.
Also in the beautiful coastal city, an exhibition will be held from June 14-18, aiming to promot and honour tangible and intangible cultural values and special tourism products of Vietnamese seas and islands.
On display will be photos of documents, artifacts and maps affirming the country’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagos.
In addition, the exhibits highlighted the attention and direction of President Ho Chi Minh and other leaders of the Party and State in the cause of national construction and defence, particularly the sovereignty of seas and islands./.
