According to the Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade - Nguyen Huynh Trang, the trade cooperation program has brought positive results and created a comprehensive cooperation relationship in the field of commerce between HCMC and the provinces, cities in the Southeast and the Southwest.

In addition to sharing experiences on state management, human resource training, the conference also connects development investment. Currently, businesses in HCMC have connected with businesses and cooperatives in other provinces and cities; invested 47 factories and production facilities; 81 farms and farm clusters in provinces and cities. Total investment capital is over 31,066 billion VND. In particular, the cooperation to provide capital for farmers and clean vegetable farms is an average of more than 3,000 billion VND per year.

After 7 years of implementation, the scale of the program has been increasingly expanded; goods have been abundant; the number of localities and businesses participating and signing contracts has been increasing. Up to now, localities have signed 2,238 principals contracts through the supply of goods between production, purchasing and supplying units.

The program also cooperates to promote and expand export markets for processed foods, handicrafts, stationery, textiles, furniture, household appliances, etc.

Manufacturers and distributors meet to cooperate in product supply

For Long An province, thanks to the conference, from 2017 up to now, businesses and cooperatives have implemented 194 supply contracts with businesses in other provinces and cities. In particular, in 2018 - 2019, the province has nearly 133 contracts to supply goods with businesses in HCMC, an increase of 5 times compared to 2017. Since then, the province's agricultural goods consumed through commercial contracts have been more sustainable.

Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut said that Long An achieved these positive results thanks to the coordination of the Department of Industry and Trade of HCMC, departments, branches and distribution enterprises of HCMC in order to create conditions for the cooperatives and businesses of the province to supply their goods.

According to the Organization Board's assessment, the advantage of supply - demand connection is that the scale and effectiveness of the program have been increasingly spreading, the number of enterprises participating in the program has increased greatly, goods have been abundant, product quality has been improved, etc. However, the potential of each region has not been fully exploited due to the lack of synchronous connection in regional planning. In addition, connecting and forming a production-distribution chain is difficult. Small and medium-sized enterprises and handicraft producing households have not met criteria, design standards, product packaging, quality and food safety certification.

Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade - Do Thang Hai requested the provinces and cities to develop diversified types of businesses to participate in this conference to encourage domestic and foreign investment. The localities should connect the conference's activities with the new rural construction program to modernize agricultural production to meet market demand and improve market forecasting quality.

Besides, more than 20 enterprises, cooperatives and production facilities of Long An displayed and introduced products to expand the product consumption market through key distributors in HCMC and other provinces./.
