Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 Project achieves and exceeds construction progress

After more than 1 year of construction, the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project, the section passing through Long An province, met and exceeded the progress milestones required by the Government.

According to the Department of Transport, up to now, the Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project, the section passing through the province, has basically reached progress milestones as required by the Government. In particular, the construction units in all 3 construction packages are making efforts to mobilize means and human resources to speed up the progress of the entire project. Currently, the construction units have 35 teams with hundreds of officers, engineers, workers and many machines and equipment continuously working to ensure the set progress.

In particular, at the XL3 package, the joint venture of Trung Thanh Investment and Construction Company Limited - Tam Son Investment Joint Stock Company - Thang Long Corporation - JSC has achieved nearly 50% progress so far. This is also a package with progress exceeding the set milestones.

According to the leader of the XL3 package, Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 Project - Vu Thong Truong, with the high spirit, currently, the construction units are focusing on human resources with more than 100 technical staff and workers to speed up the construction progress of the overpass and the U-turn bridge with the highest determination to open the technical traffic of 1 branch at the final intersection between Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 and Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong Expressway by the end of October.

Up to now, the contractors have cast the U-turn bridge girder reaching 116/272m, cast 34/48 super T girders of the overpass, installed 24/48 girder slabs and are installing the overpass girder to complete the bridge deck. In addition, for the main route, the contractor completed the sand filling of the roadbed; completed the sand filling of the K95 branch route with a length of nearly 3,400m; and completed 100% of the mass pile construction.

For the XL2 package - construction of Tan Buu bridge, the main expressway route, the parallel route of the left branch and the parallel road from Provincial Road 830C to the intersection in the Km88+766 - Km90+472 section, are constructed by the Joint Venture of Tan Nam Construction Joint Stock Company - IDICO Petroleum Construction Investment Joint Stock Company - Nui Hong Joint Stock Company. Currently, Tan Buu bridge has completed all bored piles, pier bases, installed 4 spans with 32 super T beams, and casted 44/316 super T beams.

Package XL1 - construction of the main expressway route, in the section Km85+200 - Km88+766, is constructed by the Joint Venture of Dai A Chau Construction and Trade Production Co., Ltd. - Delta Construction and Trade Joint Stock Company - Tan Hoang Long Investment, Construction and Trade Joint Stock Company. Currently, the contractors have completed sand filling of the public service road; sand filling of the main route, weak soil treatment, striving to complete the roadbed by the end of 2024, including the treatment of weak soil. According to Department of Transport, the department regularly urges contractors to focus on implementing construction teams, closely monitor progress and quality, promptly remove difficulties and obstacles to ensure the project to be completed on schedule and according to plan.

The Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 project has a total length of about 76.34km, passing through Ho Chi Minh City and 3 provinces: Dong Nai, Binh Duong, Long An; divided into 8 independently operated component projects with a total investment of 75,378 billion VND. The scale of the completed phase includes 8 expressway lanes and parallel roads on both sides. Phase 1 has in 4 expressway lanes and parallel roads on both sides. Of which, the section passing through the province is 6.84km long with 2 component projects including: component project 7 - construction of Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3, section passing through Long An province, with a total investment of 3,040 billion VND and component project 8 - compensation, support, resettlement of Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3, section passing through Long An province, with a total investment of 1,168 billion VND. In June 2023, the Provincial People's Committee officially started the project, striving to basically complete and open the expressway section to traffic in 2025 and complete the entire project in 2026./.
