Speaking to the press on October 7, Airlangga affirmed that with the current situation, the quarantine period will be cut down to 5 days, but said that this decision must first receive consent from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNFB), Ministry of Home Affairs and Ministry of Transport.

According to the Minister of Transport, visitors on entry must be quarantined for 8 days. This regulation is facing a lot of criticism from tourism businesses. Bali Ketut Ardana, President of the Indonesian Association of Travel and Tourism Associations (ASITA), said that many current regulations are causing difficulties for tourists, such as isolation, PCR testing and visas./.
