International Tourism Fair opened in Ho Chi Minh City

Politburo Member, Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Secretary - Nguyen Thien Nhan; Deputy Prime Minister - Vu Duc Dam; Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism - Nguyen Ngoc Thien; representatives of central leaders of ministries and branches, leaders of localities and diplomatic agencies, domestic and foreign experts attended the event.

According to the Organizing Board, following the success of the past 14 years, the 15th Ho Chi Minh City International Tourism Fair 2019 was held from September 4 to 7 at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center with the theme "Tourism Gateway to Asia".

This year's Fair continues growing its quality and quantity including attracting the participation of 258 international buyers (an increase of 573 percent compared to 2005) and 39 international newspapers from 40 countries and territories (an increase of 666 percent compared to 2005).

There were 315 booths participating (an increase of 366 percent compared to 2005) with a total lobby area of 8,800 square meters (an increase of 550 percent compared to 2005) and 45 provinces and cities nationwide (an increase of 450 percent compared to 2005).

The Organizing Board expected more than 6,000 trade appointments between buyers and sellers (up 600 percent compared to 2005) and attracted about 35,000 trade visitors and the public (an increase of 2,692 percent compared to 2005) visit the Fair.

In addition, the Fair also organized a series of 10 forums, conferences and seminars to update the latest trends and in-depth knowledge related to tourism development with more than 10 sideline activities. It promises to bring an impressive and large-scale event, contributing positively to the sustainable development of the tourism industry in the lowland of the Mekong River./.
