Localities welcome first foreign visitors of Lunar New Year

Upon their arrival, they were treated to an enticing welcoming ceremony with flower bouquets, gifts, lucky money, art performances, an introduction to Vietnam’s traditions to mark the beginning of a lunar year, and a lucky draw.

The Mong Cai municipal authorities held a ceremony this morning to welcome Mong Cai International Border Gate’s first delegation of international visitors to Vietnam in the Year of the Pig.

Receiving over 200 tourists from Guangzhou (China), Chairman of the city People’s Committee, Vu Van Kinh offered New Year greetings to the delegation, wishing them a pleasant, safe and meaningful trip to the beautiful and friendly land of Mong Cai.

At the reception, the first visitors to Mong Cai were presented with bunches of flowers and lucky money.

The first group of foreign tourists to Lao Cai province in lunar New Year 2019 received lucky money at the welcoming ceremony.

Meanwhile, the Lao Cai provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism hosted a warm ceremony to welcome the first group of foreign tourists to the locality in lunar New Year 2019.

The 18 Chinese visitors, who are on a tour to explore Sapa and Lao Cai, received bunches of flowers and souvenirs at the event.

On the same day about 400 ships, carrying 8,000 tourists, who consisted mainly of foreigners, to the UNESCO-recognised world natural heritage site of Ha Long Bay, in the northern coastal province of Quang Ninh./.
