At the meeting
According to Director of Long An Department of Industry and Trade - Le Minh Duc, recently, Long An and Ho Chi Minh City have well implemented supply-demand connection. Long An has effectively processed agricultural materials at source to provide safe agricultural products for the Ho Chi Minh City's market. As a result, the connection has achieved many positive results; the number of contracts as well as the consumption of goods have increased.
However, the connection has some limitations. Enterprises and cooperatives in Long An province face difficulties in providing direct products to the system of convenience stores, supermarkets, and collective kitchens. Goods must be sold through enterprises and cooperatives in Ho Chi Minh City, some cases have to pay high costs in case of bringing goods for sale in supermarkets.
Besides, some enterprises and cooperatives signed memoranda of understanding at conference on supply-demand connection. However, these memoranda are difficult to become commercial contracts. Moreover, although agricultural products are certified as a safe supply chain of agricultural, forestry and fishery products, it is difficult to access business establishments in Ho Chi Minh City.
At the meeting, Long An hoped that the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City would strengthen the connection, support the province to consume agricultural products and implement the signed memoranda of understanding; create favorable conditions for Long An's goods to reach Ho Chi Minh City's consumers through direct distribution channels to reduce costs; focus on connecting with businesses providing industrial catering service, restaurants, and convenience stores. Besides safe vegetables, Long An wants to connect the consumption of beef, aquaculture products and other processed products in Ho Chi Minh City.
Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade continues to connect Long An as well as many other provinces and cities to support businesses and cooperatives to promote and expand markets. In particular, Ho Chi Minh City will prioritize high quality goods, reasonable prices and specialties, said the Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Industry and Trade - Nguyen Huynh Trang./.
