The meeting also informed about Official Letter No.917/KH-SGTVT dated April 12 of Long An Department of Transport on implementing drastic solutions to serve people on holidays, reduce traffic accidents and avoid traffic jam.
On holidays, the number of passengers increased suddenly from 3 to 5 pm. Therefore, the Long An Transport Management Center, HCMC Management center of Public Transport should have appropriate plans, change the itinerary and shorten the departure time from 15 minutes per trip to 12 minutes per trip, said the Director of the Long An Transport Management Center - Dinh Huu Phuong.
Representatives of transport cooperatives proposed to support car owners by providing more cars on the holidays. This is to cease cases of driving up to 3 trips daily with the aim of preventing traffic accidents.
At the meeting, Long An Transport Management Center and HCMC Management center of Public Transport required transport cooperatives and owners to ensure technical safety, air conditioning and cruise monitoring systems.
