Long An hosts "Southern Summer Camp"

In 4 days (from 17 to 20 of July 2019), Long An hosted the 6th "Southern Summer Camp" participated by 885 teachers and students from 21 high schools for gifted students and high-quality high schools of 16 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region, the Southeast and the Central Highlands at Long An High School for gifted students.

Southern Summer Camp takes place with Olympic competitions in many subjects; in writing themes on establishing the school yearbook for many subjects; training thematic seminars for teachers and students; holding scientific seminars and exchanging among schools.

Accordingly, Olympic competitions for students in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, History, Geography, English and Informatics are held. Each school assigns less than 3 students per subject. The exam content is based on the curriculum of each grade-10 subject issued by the Ministry of Education and Training, its level accesses to the knowledge of national exam for excellent students.

In addition, experts trained thematic activities for teachers and students. Teachers and students are fostered in specialized knowledge in school subjects, participate in exchanges and share teaching experiences, find out outstanding students to educate and learn.

Besides, the schools meet, exchange culture and arts to learn the history of the Southern region in general and Long An in particular. Students participate in group picnics or visit local cultural and historical sites.

This is the fostering and developing activities for gifted students in the system of schools for gifted students in the Mekong Delta region and some neighboring provinces and cities; at the same time, it contributes to strengthening cultural and social understanding among regions for teachers and students./.
