Long An signed consultancy contract to plan province for period 2021-2030 with its vision to 2050

In particular, the provincial regulations only have provincial planning. Therefore, in the coming time, the Provincial Planning will play a very important role, orienting the development of the province to 2030, with a vision to 2050 and serving as a basis for provincial leaders to carry out the work of directing and developing economy-society.

Accordingly, implementing the Conclusion No. 36-KL/TU dated December 3, 2020 of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on the socialization of funding for planning Long An province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to the year 2050, through the preparation process, the contract signing ceremony for the Provincial Planning was carried out. The contract is signed by the 3-party method between the Department of Planning and Investment (the unit assigned by the Provincial People's Committee to prepare the provincial planning), the sponsoring unit (including Saigon Telecom Technology Joint Stock Company, the Company Northwest Saigon Urban Development Joint Stock Company and VinaCapital Group) and Provincial Planning Consultant Unit (Mckinsey & Company Vietnam Company Limited).

Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut said that the provincial leaders expect to have a quality plan with many new ideas, the international and long-term breakthrough when they have chosen a consultant with a lot of experience to formulate the Provincial Planning. At the same time, the planning is also suitable to the current development status of the province, exploiting well the potentials and advantages of the province for rapid and sustainable development.

To speed up the planning progress of the province, to soon complete the plan serving the administration of socio-economic development of the province, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut proposed that right after the contract was signed, the consulting unit - Mckinsey & Company Vietnam Co., Ltd. immediately embarked on planning, arranging a team of experts to ensure quality and quantity in the planning process to ensure progress under the contract, ensuring the Provincial Planning submitted to the Prime Minister for approval in 2021.

At the same time, Mr. Nguyen Van Ut assigned the Department of Planning and Investment to well perform the management and coordination in the planning process, regularly reporting to the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee and the Provincial Planning Council about the progress of planning and difficulties and problems in order to speed up the implementation progress and ensure the planning quality; assigned departments, branches of the province, the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to actively coordinate with the Department of Planning and Investment, the consulting unit in the planning process.

Information from the People's Committee of the province, after Covid-19, Vietnam will become a bright spot to receive many waves of investment. Therefore, the whole country in general and all localities in particular have been focusing the highest spirit on the formulation of the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, to take advantage of opportunities and create a breakthrough for the next 10 years, 30 years. As a locality with many favorable conditions in attracting investment, Long An province also focuses on implementing this directive.

Approved by the Prime Minister to prepare the provincial planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 in Decision No. 522/QD-TTg dated April 16, 2020, Long An with determination spirit has actively done working with domestic and foreign partners to find a unit with enough vision, capacity and experience to advise to formulate an overall development strategy for the province in order to improve provincial competitiveness, attract investment and socio-economic development.

At the signing ceremony, representatives of the consulting unit as well as the sponsor pledged to cooperate and work responsibly with the partners with determination, actively supporting the development of Long An.

Under this signed contract, the parties will work together to develop a Provincial Plan for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 on the principles of cooperation and mutual respect until the planning report is approved by the Prime Minister. It is believed that this general planning will help Long An province change a new face, a new development step in the socio-economic field in a comprehensive and superior way./.
