Long An signs memorandum of cooperation for information and communication development

On July 16, Minister of Information and Communications - Nguyen Manh Hung had a working session and signed with Long An province on cooperation in information and communication development.

Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Council - Pham Van Ranh; Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee - Tran Van Can; Head of the National Assembly delegation of Long An province - Truong Van No; Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Pham Van Canh and representatives of some provincial departments and branches received the delegation.

Director of Department of Information and Communication - Nguyen Ba Luan summarized the situation of socio-economic development and activities of Information and Communication sector in the province.

In recent years, the activities of the Information and Communication sector in the province such as posts and telecommunications, network security, information and communication, and the application of information technology continue to grow and achieve vital results.

Up to now, the Document Management software has been deployed synchronously in the whole province. The electronic document exchange rate has continued to reach 90 percent; 98 percent of documents have been solved on time according to online announcement. The provincial public service portal has been increasingly upgraded, providing 818 online public services at level 3 (reaching 47 percent) and 181 online public services at level 4 (reaching 10 percent).

The Provincial People's Committee proposed the Ministry of Information and Communications to advise the Government on specific regulations on the responsibility to connect and share information and database systems between the province and ministries, branches; setting up an orientation mechanism in the press for sensitive and important information from the central to local levels; supporting the promotion and attraction of domestic and foreign information, electronic and telecommunication enterprises to Long An province.

Mr. Pham Van Canh also expected the Minister to continue to support and guide the province on network security; information and communication, especially the establishment of e-Government, digital transformation and smart urban. Besides, the project to build smart urban is quite new and relate to many different sectors, so the ministry needs to issue a set of specific guiding criteria for localities, departments and sectors to implement smoothly and save time and costs.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung highly appreciated the socio-economic development, activities of Information and communication sector in Long An. Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung pledged to acknowledge Long An's proposals to promptly advise and solve difficulties.

At the same time, he also asked the province to invest more in infrastructure - technical development of technology, digital transformation and technology application of the industrial revolution 4.0; focus on training and supplementing high-quality human resources in a digital era;…
