Long Khot Border Guard area recognized as National historic site

According to the proposal of the People's Committee of Long An Province, the Ministry of Culture - Sports and Tourism recognized Long Khot Border Guard Area (in Thai Binh Trung commune, Vinh Hung district) as a National historic site.

Long Khot Border Guard area is recognized as National historic site

This is an area bordering Vietnam - Cambodia. It serves as a strategic military position from the Southeast  provinces to Cambodia and the Mekong Delta.

In the two resistance wars to liberate the nation, Long Khot is a disputed area between Vietnam and its enemy.

In the period of 1972 - 1975 and 1978, more than 1,000 Vietnamese soldiers passed away in Long Khot area to protect the border of the Fatherland.

The recognition of Long Khot Border guard station as the National historic site is to satisfy the desire of the authorities, people and veterans 

Long Khot martyr temple was built next to the Long Khot Border guard station to pay tribute to those who made supreme sacrifices for the country. Every May 19th, the Party committee, local authorities and Border guards of Long An province organize the death anniversary of the martyrs and the commemoration of Uncle Ho with the participation of many local people.

The recognition of Long Khot Border guard station as the National historic site is to satisfy the desire of the authorities, people and veterans who fought in the Long Khot battlefield in the past./.
