Lamp offering ceremony on Ba Den mountain
Bell ringing at Ba Temple on the morning of July 1
According to information from the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, all pagodas and monasteries nationwide simultaneously rang the bell and the Prajna drum three times at 6am on July 1 to pray for national peace and prosperity.
This is considered a special historical event, demonstrating the spirit of "Buddhism accompanying the nation in every stage of history".
The system of Ba Temples on Ba Den mountain is associated with the legend of Linh Son Thanh Mau Bodhisattva, with a history of hundreds of years, and has become a spiritual support for Tay Ninh people through many generations. In 1763, Linh Son Temple on Ba Den mountain was built, considered the oldest Buddhist temple in Tay Ninh and laid the foundation for the development of Buddhism in Tay Ninh. Today, the majestic and peaceful Linh Son Tien Thach Tu in the middle of the majestic Ba Temple system is the place where many major Buddhist events of the province take place.
To mark the new stage of Tay Ninh province after the merger, the bell-ringing ceremony and chanting prayers for national peace and prosperity was solemnly held at Linh Son Tien Thach Tu to mark a new stage of development of Tay Ninh province in particular and the country in general.
After the bell-ringing ceremony and the three-beat drum ceremony, monks, Buddhists and tourists joined in the chanting to pray for national peace and prosperity for all people. This will be a special moment in history for the people of Tay Ninh to welcome a new era under the protection of Linh Son Thanh Mau Bodhisattva - a sacred symbol in the beliefs of the local people.
