Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development - Nguyen Thanh Truyen informed that in 2025, the sector set a number of targets: Striving for the province's rice output to reach 2.95 million tons, of which high-quality rice output accounts for 70% of the total output; adding 3 new rural districts (Can Duoc, Ben Luc and Duc Hoa), 3 more new rural communes, 12 more advanced new rural commune, 5 more model new rural communes. To achieve the set targets, the sector analyzed and evaluated the advantages and difficulties and implemented them right from the beginning of the year with the highest determination. The sector continues to implement the Breakthrough Program on Developing High-Tech Agriculture in conjunction with restructuring the agricultural sector; strengthen propaganda, guidance, and transfer of science and technology as well as deploy measures to prevent and control diseases on crops and livestock; focus on implementing management and monitoring of growing area codes; continue to diversify forms of propaganda; deeply and widely deploy the emulation movement to join hands in building new rural areas; introduce good models and creative ways in building new rural areas in the province, etc.
