Secretary of Long An Party Committee: Silent sacrifices is worthily proud in fighting against Covid-19 pandemic

Covid-19 is a particularly dangerous pandemic with a rapid spread, unpredictable and unprecedented development, which has been causing serious socio-economic consequences, strongly affecting all aspects of social life of the province. An outbreak of new strains with a faster infection rate, stronger, more dangerous and more difficult to control has appeared and spread in the province. But with close, correct and timely leadership from the central, provincial and district levels to the grassroots levels; active participation of all levels, branches, Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations at all levels; the efforts to overcome difficulties, the spirit of solidarity, consensus, share and support of the people and the business community; In which, there is especially the dedication, sacrifice and selflessness of the frontline forces against the epidemic, the armed forces, the pioneer force, rushing on the anti-epidemic front, facing many difficulties, hardship, danger, every day, every hour, we have to stretch ourselves to fight against the epidemic because the most important goal is to protect the people’s health, life and safety.

Up to now, we are gradually controlling the situation, most of the new infections are in quarantined and blocked areas; Cases in the community have been localized, concentrated in tracing, isolated and treated.

In this fight, there have been  silent sacrifices of the frontline forces, they leave many emotional images and touch our hearts. On behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Provincial Committee of Vietnam Fatherland Front, I respectfully acknowledge, be grateful and thank the tremendous contributions of the frontline force in epidemic prevention and control of the province; comrades have overcome all difficulties and hardships, overcome themselves and work together with the political system have entered a drastic fight in epidemic prevention and control to gain the results over the past time.

Currently, the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic has entered a harder and more drastic phase when we together with 18 southern provinces and city strictly implement social distancing according to Official Letter No. 969/TTg-KGVX, dated 17 July 2021 by the PM. In the past few days, I have been really moved to tears, directly witnessed and met "white shirt soldiers" from the province to the facility working day and night to test, trace, receive and treat Covid-19 patients. They temporarily put aside their personal work, temporarily stay away from their family, they work with a sense of responsibility despite facing many risks of infection from patients. Despite difficulties and hardships, the medical staff of the province is always firm, a solid support for the people in this "fight".

Together with the medical force, promoting the tradition of "Be loyal to the Party, respect the people"; "For the nation to forget ourselves, for the people to serve", showing absolute loyalty to the Party and the Fatherland, ready to sacrifice themselves for the people, every cadre, soldier, and policeman is working day and night in the sun and dew, forming "steel shields" at the frontline in epidemic prevention and control; forces on the border lines have been deployed more drastically than ever since the application banning the entry of foreigners into Vietnam. On the trails, openings, border gates, the footsteps of border guards patrol non-stop, through the night, stopping the risk of spreading disease from the border. For them, over the past days, the border has become home, field tents turned into rest places.

When the province appeared many isolation areas, temporary blockade areas and field hospitals, officers of the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations, especially at grassroots level, urgently stepped in, well performed the task of epidemic propaganda and prevention. At the same time, promoting the tradition of solidarity, "mutual solidarity, mutual affection", "give food, share clothes" to mobilize people to contribute to creating more resources for epidemic prevention and control. Many 0-VND markets, many charity kitchens taking care of each meal for the isolation areas and field hospitals, going to the market instead, and so on are in charge of the Fatherland Front, socio-political organizations organized in many places, promptly provided officials, soldiers, medical staff, the sick and the poor with heart-warming meals and essential goods to safely implement social distancing regulations, contributing to fighting against the epidemic in the province.

The epidemic occurred, many businesses were severely affected, businesses had to ensure production safety, health and life safety for workers, laborers, and so on with a lot of costs incurred, but many businesses still actively and voluntarily contribute to the Covid-19 Prevention and Control Fund, the Vaccine Fund and participate in social security work. The business community has sponsored medical equipment and supplies, accompanied the province to realize the "dual goals" of fighting the epidemic, developing the economy and promoting social responsibility.

I also share the  difficulties of individuals who are performing concentrated isolation and treated in field hospitals; on-duty forces always try to help people get the best conditions, even though they still face many difficulties in terms of physical and mental facilities. At many isolation places, the service force has taken care to prepare the smallest personal items for the quarantined people; Entering the on-duty isolation area means that you accept to put aside all your personal work and not go home. Some people even heard that their loved ones had passed away and could not return because they were on duty in the epidemic area.

Accompanying in the fight against the epidemic is a team of reporters and journalists. Comrades have accompanied the frontline forces, not been afraid of difficulties and dangers, promptly provided information and pictures from quarantined areas, blockades, field hospitals, charity activities and kind jobs during the epidemic season to audiences and readers throughout the province and the country.

The sacrifices and losses of comrades, though they are silent, but very proud; The entire Party, people and army of Long An are placing their responsibility, we are following and expecting for your victories in this fight. Looking back on the past journey, the things that have been done and are being done, we have the right to be proud of our efforts and all of the above works represent the tradition of solidarity of our nation being recognized by the people in the province stronger than ever. In the coming time, the epidemic will be even more complicated, I hope that all compatriots, comrades, soldiers and businesses across the province, especially the frontline forces against the epidemic, continue to promote the results that have been achieved. We can do it, strive our best, join hands with the determination to win the epidemic, so that we can continue to build a peaceful and prosperous life.

Wishing the army soldiers, police, volunteers, militiamen, grassroots officials, forces and especially the team of doctors, nurses, medical staff, and so on to be healthy, safe, continue to make efforts to excellently fulfil their noble tasks, be worthy to the trust and love of the Party, Government and People of Long An province.
