First prize winners of the contest honoured at the ceremony
Nguyen Thi Dien, a student from the Hanoi University, won the first prize in the translation category, while the first prize in the category of making infographic and video clips went to duo Do Van Nhat and Vo Thi Thu Hieu from the People's Security University.
One second, seven consolation prizes, and a most online vote prize for infographic/video clip were also presented on the occasion.
The contest was launched by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) Central Committee and the French Development Agency (AFD) in Hanoi in August this year to raise Vietnamese youths’ awareness of the impact of environmental and social changes in Vietnam, thus calling for the community’s joint efforts in overcoming environmental consequences and promoting sustainable development.
The organising board received nearly 390 entries, including 265 translation works, 103 infographic works, and 21 videos. A majority of the entrants were aged from 18 to 25, and 50% of the contestants were students.
Through their entrants, the competitors not only provided a more understandable approach and understanding of the term “resilience” but also contributed to raising public awareness on such pressing global issues as environment pollution, climate change, overpopulation, and the effects of the urbanisation and industrialisation processes./.
