Southern Summer Camp is an initiative of the high school principal Club of high schools for gifted students in the Mekong Delta and the South East, which was first organized in Dong Thap province in 2014.

Southern Summer Camp this year takes place in 4 days (July 17-20) with the participation of more than 800 teachers and students from the schools: Phan Ngoc Hien HSGS and Dam Doi HSGS (Ca Mau province), Ben Tre HSGS (Ben Tre province), Ly Tu Trong HSGS (Can Tho city), Nguyen Thi Minh Khai HSGS (Soc Trang province), Nguyen Quang Dieu HSGS and Nguyen Dinh Chieu HSGS (Dong Thap province), Hung Vuong HSGS (Binh Duong province), Tien Giang HSGS (Tien Giang province), Vi Thanh (Hau Giang province), Bac Lieu (Bac Lieu province), Thoai Ngoc Hau HSGS and Thu Khoa Nghia (An Giang province), Hoang Le Kha HSGS (Tay Ninh province), Nguyen Thien Thanh HSGS (Tra Vinh province), Nguyen Binh Khiem HSGS (Vinh Long province), Huynh Man Dat HSGS (Kien Giang province), Bao Loc HSGS (Lam Dong province), Hau Nghia High School, Le Quy Don High School and Long An HSGS (Long An province).

Opening the summer camp activities, students take part in Olympic competitions in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Literature, History, Geography, English and Informatics. Simultaneously, teachers of various subjects are attended a seminar by leading experts. Students also receive specialized training during summer camp. In addition, teachers and students can participate in activities of amusement, entertainment, culture and history of the Mekong Delta in general and Long An province in particular.
