Promoting the pivotal role

Recently, the Provincial Cooperative Alliance actively implemented Resolution No. 13-NQ/TW, dated March 18, 2002 by the IXth Central Party Committee, on continuing to innovate, develop and improve the efficiency of the market economy and Resolution No. 26-NQ/TW of the Xth Central Executive Party Committee on agriculture, farmers and rural for the economic and cooperative sectors in the agricultural sector.

Every year, the Executive Committee of the Provincial Cooperative Alliance actively develops an implementation plan, carries out the task closely to each innovation and breakthrough content and the key program proposed by the Resolution of the Provincial Party Congress. Specifically, it focuses on building and developing the movement of collective economy, cooperatives, cooperative groups of agricultural services in rural areas, especially pilot communes in new-style rural construction.

Consulting, capital support, science and technology transfer, market access, brand building, product promotion, training and fostering of human resources are also implemented effectively. Accordingly, the Provincial Cooperative Alliance advised and supported the establishment of 171 new cooperatives, over 300 agricultural service centers, consolidated and made the existing cooperatives perfect; focused on service activities to support the development of agricultural and rural production, promoted household economic development, developed production of goods from agricultural products with local strengths such as dragon fruit, rice, lemon, yams, vegetables, etc.

The Provincial Cooperative Alliance actively cooperates with the District-level People's Committee to advise on establishing the new cooperatives, to consolidate the activities of many cooperatives, to expand the business and trades in products and goods to serve the lives of members, employees and consumption to the market. Cooperatives in localities with many potentials and advantages to develop all types of services are consolidated and improved operational efficiency, focusing on developing products associated with tourism.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial Cooperative Alliance - Nguyen Hoang Huy said: "Performing the function of representing and protecting the legitimate rights and interests of cooperatives and member units, the Provincial Cooperative Alliance focuses on fostering, improving professional qualifications and organizes learning experiences of neighbouring provinces. The Provincial Cooperative Alliance actively cooperates with relevant state management agencies, departments, branches and competent authorities to remove difficulties and problems related to benefits for many members. Thereby, it creates trust for members to feel secure in production and business”.

Positive changes from agricultural Cooperatives

With the impacts in the process of organizing, implementing and practising the economic and cooperative areas have had positive changes, appearing many typical cooperative models in the fields of production and life. The province currently has 207 agricultural cooperatives, an increase of 202 cooperatives compared to 2002, of which, 183 cooperatives are operating and 24 cooperatives are temporarily suspended or stopped operation. The average revenue of the cooperative has increased steadily over the years, estimated at 762.21 million VND per cooperative and estimated profit at 44.22 million VND per cooperative.

Many cooperatives strongly invested, renewed equipment, production lines to expand production and business activities and bring efficiency. The products and goods of the cooperative have been brought to the market and have gained more and more prestige. For example, Phuoc Thinh Agricultural Production, Trade and Service Cooperative (Phuoc Hau commune, Can Giuoc district); Phuoc Hoa Safe Vegetable Cooperative (Phuoc Van Commune, Can Duoc District); Huong Trang Agricultural Service, Production and Trade Cooperative (Binh Hoa Trung Commune, Moc Hoa District); so on.

Director of Phuoc Hoa Safe Vegetable Cooperative - Kieu Anh Dung shared: “Thanks to the investment in building hydroponic vegetable growing systems, net house systems, using micro-organic fertilizers in production, and economical irrigation systems, using the seed-sowing machine to save a lot of cost and manpower. Currently, the cooperative has signed contracts with companies and supermarkets inside and outside the province with a total area of 15 hectares and an output of 2,400 tons per year.

The development of cooperatives and cooperatives effectively contributes to the promotion of economic and labor restructuring in agriculture and rural areas. Thereby, it contributes to stabilizing the political, security and defense situation, successfully implementing the National Target Program on new-style rural construction, creating momentum to boost the economy and ensure social security.

At the same time, it sets out effective tasks and solutions to build and multiply typical advanced cooperatives; focuses on propaganda to raise awareness of members about their rights and responsibilities to the cooperatives. Then, it creates a close tie between members and cooperatives and participating in building a strong cooperative” - Vice Chairman of Provincial Cooperative Alliance - Nguyen Hoang Huy added.

Thanks to promoting the pivotal role, the Provincial Cooperative Alliance has made many positive contributions to the development of the local economy and cooperatives.
