Consumer price index in May 2019 in Long An increased by 0.62 percent

In May 2019, gasoline prices increased according to world prices, electricity prices increased due to the impact of electricity price adjustment in March 2019.

Besides, the hot weather causes the increase of customers’ consumption volume which is the impact factor making the consumer price index (CPI) in May 2019 in Long An increased by 0.62 percent compared to the previous month, an increase of 1.45 percent compared to December 2018, and an increase of 3.61 percent compared to the same period last year.

Average of the first 5 months of 2019, CPI increased by 3.22 percent compared to the same period in 2018.

Compared to the previous month, in 11 groups of goods and services, there are 8 groups with CPI increase: Traffic increased the highest with 3.27 percent; housing, electricity, fuel and construction materials increased 1.13 percent; drinks and cigarettes increased 1.00 percent; food and catering services increased 0.32 percent; other goods and services increased 0.26 percent; appliances and household appliances increased 0.25 percent; culture, entertainment and tourism increased 0.04 percent; garment, hats and footwear increased 0.02 percent.
