Support for startups
On June 24, 2024, the Department of Science and Technology issued Notice No. 1147 inviting startups to register for the 2024 Business Incubation Selection.
Accordingly, the registration subjects are innovative startups, startups with the ability to grow rapidly based on exploiting intellectual property, technology, and new business models.
Enterprises with a period of operation of no more than 5 years from the date of being granted the first business registration certificate. In particular, priority is given to projects of enterprises that have entered the final round of the 1st Innovation Startup - Future Creation Competition in 2023 organized by the Department of Science and Technology.
Successful enterprises will be incubated according to the support policy of Long An Provincial People's Committee according to Decision No. 13/2021, dated March 30, 2022 with a maximum support budget of no more than 60 million VND/enterprise, including training, coaching, and connection activities.
The incubation period is expected to be 4 months, including the following contents: Training to complete the identity system, brand image - products, packaging corresponding and consistent with the strategic vision of the enterprise; training to complete the business model corresponding and suitable to the market of the enterprise applying innovative solutions; training to complete the management and digital transformation process for enterprises, including management, marketing and product distribution activities; etc.
Currently, the Department of Science and Technology has received 6 applications to participate in the incubation program. Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology - Ho Thi Diep Thuy emphasized that the program aims to increase development opportunities for start-ups and innovative enterprises, help young enterprises develop systematically, achieve sustainable growth and improve competitiveness in the digital age.
Outstanding start-up models
In recent years, the start-up movement in the province has increasingly developed, attracting many young people to take advantage of existing advantages to build effective economic models. Among them, Mr. Nguyen Duy Lich (Tan Tru district) stands out with his consecutive achievements of winning the First Prize in the Long An Province Innovation and Startup Competition for 2 consecutive years.

With his knowledge of biotechnology, he researched and developed the Noni Enzyme product. This product is produced by combining fresh noni fruit with nutritious organic fruits and cultured using S.B.O (Soha Biotic) technology.
This technology helps preserve and enhance 18 times the valuable active ingredients in noni fruit compared to traditional methods, add probiotics and enzymes to improve the digestive system. Currently, the product is distributed through e-commerce platforms, receiving positive feedback from customers. Mr. Lich also participates in many trade promotion programs and aims to expand the market to neighboring countries.
The success of the project not only brings economic benefits to Mr. Lich but also creates jobs for local people. Mr. Lich shared: “I hope that the product will be known and trusted by many people, contributing to improving community health. I am perfecting my product in all aspects to ensure long-term development”.
Ms. Phan Nguyet Tuong (Ben Luc district) started a business with Greeny Green Drying Facility, specializing in producing dried vegetables and fruits. The business idea comes from the desire to diversify food for overseas Vietnamese and solve the problem of agricultural surplus during the Covid-19 pandemic. The facility applies low-temperature drying technology, helping to preserve the color and flavor of the product.
Currently, Greeny Green Drying provides many types of fruits, vegetables, tubers and specialties of the Western region such as sesban flowers, tonkin creeper flowers, coconut tubers, etc with raw materials that meet VietGAP standards. Ms. Tuong confided that the total initial investment was more than 1.2 billion VND. The production process includes the following steps: Washing, peeling, slicing or shredding, washing again, draining, arranging on trays and drying.

The products are sold online on Zalo, Facebook and e-commerce platforms, distributed throughout Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Hanoi and exported. The model helps Ms. Tuong earn an income of 40-50 million VND/month after expenses; at the same time, creating jobs for local workers.
Currently, Mr. Nguyen Duy Lich and Ms. Phan Nguyet Tuong have registered to participate in the business incubation program with the desire to perfect and develop their business model. Through the program, they will be trained thoroughly in building brand identity, improving product image and designing packaging in line with long-term strategies.
In addition, the program also supports improving business management skills, developing innovative business models, promoting the application of technology in management, marketing and product distribution.
In particular, participating businesses also have the opportunity to attend the Startup Bootcamp training program, where they can hone their startup skills, connect with partners, access funding and investment funds, and expand opportunities for sustainable development in the future.
