Dong Thap Muoi Regional GH will be the first unit in the province to organize Covid-19 vaccination for medical staff

Dong Thap Muoi Regional GH is treating 1 patient positive for SARS-CoV-2 (Patient 2061). This will be the first unit in the province to organize Covid-19 vaccination for medical staff.

Accordingly, the Covid-19 vaccination of for staff at Dong Thap Muoi Regional GH will be divided into 2 times, 12 weeks apart; each injection is about 3 days.

The goal is to have at least 95 percent of risk factors (including contract workers) working at Dong Thap Muoi Regional GH receive 2 doses of Covid-19 vaccine; at the same time ensure vaccination safety according to Decree 104/2016/ND-CP dated July 1, 2016 of the Government on vaccination activities and related regulations.

The vaccine to be used is AstraZeneca, produced by AstraZeneca Group by SK Bioscience (SKBio) in Korea. The vaccine was approved by the World Health Organization (WHO) for emergency use on February 15, 2021. This vaccine has been approved by 25 countries for circulation and use, including Vietnam. The vaccine will be transported to Dong Thap Muoi Regional GH by the National Expanded Immunization Project - National Institute of Hygiene and Epidemiology.

Dong Thap Muoi Regional GH conducted immunization training to ensure vaccination safety and prevention of SARS-CoV-2 infection. The Department of Health also conducted a survey of the facilities to prepare vaccines for all medical staff of Dong Thap Muoi Regional GH to be ready for vaccination when vaccines are available./.
