Recently, Khanh Hau Vegetable and Fruit Agricultural Cooperative (Khanh Hau Ward, Tan An City, Long An Province) has grown vegetables and fruits according to organic standards, applying high technology to meet market's demand. "Recognizing people's need for clean agricultural products, the cooperative invested in building 6 greenhouses to grow clean vegetables in Khanh Hau ward, each greenhouse has an area of 200m2. Along with that is a water storage reservoir with an area of 60m2 for watering vegetables, an automatic irrigation system, a water filtration system, etc with a total investment cost of more than 1.5 billion VND. I also hired more than 10 workers to take care of vegetable, water, etc." - Ms. Thanh Tu - a member of the cooperative, shared.

Although newly operating, the cooperative has development and growth goals. Most recently, the cooperative opened a store at Ward 2 market, Tan An city, specializing in wholesale and retail supply of organic agricultural products such as leafy vegetables, chive, papaya, gourds, squash, etc.

Ms. Kim Quyen - a member of the cooperative, said that clean agricultural products are grown according to organic standards with the "6 no" criteria (no pesticides, herbicides, chemical fertilizers, preservatives, stimulants, or genetically modified substances). At first, Ms. Kim Quyen and her husband experimented with growing chives on an area of 20 square meters. After 3 months, realizing that the product was selling well, she and other members of the cooperative expanded the scale of growing to 3,500m2.

Currently, chives are mainly sold at the cooperative's store at Ward 2 market for 120,000 VND/kg. "Chives grown for more than 3 months can be harvested in small quantities; after more than 8 months, they can be harvested and sold regularly, and after more than 5 years, they must be replanted." - Ms. Kim Quyen added.

Chairman of Farmers' Association of Khanh Hau ward, Tan An city - Nguyen Hoang Du commented: "After the Covid-19 pandemic, people are increasingly concerned about health, environmental protection, and clean agricultural products have become a source of essential food in every family's meals. In the coming time, local leaders and cooperatives will strengthen cultivation techniques and expand production scale."/.
