Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee - Huynh Van Son chairs the meeting
The meeting was held in the form of face-to-face and online connection with districts, towns and cities in the province. At the meeting, delegates heard a report on the operation results of economic and cooperative sector in the province in 2022 and the first 6 months of 2023, difficulties, problems and set out directions and solution by the end of 2023.
As of June 2023, the province has 301 cooperatives and People's Credit Funds with nearly 40,100 members; 1,463 cooperative groups with about 26,007 members. In general, the collective and cooperative economy have prospered, especially in the field of agriculture.
Cooperative models are regularly consolidated and adjusted to achieve practical economic efficiency. Recently, there have been a number of cooperatives applying high technology to production, bringing initial efficiency. In particular, cooperatives have focused on food safety, trademarks, product traceability, etc.
Cooperative groups were established to facilitate and assist in economic development. They have overcome some limitations of household and individual economy, which is the premise for cooperative development.
The meeting is connected online with districts, towns and cities in the province
In addition to the achieved results, the awareness of some officials, party members, committees and authorities is not sufficient about the new model of cooperatives, the guidelines of the Party, policies and laws of the State towards collective economy.
Management qualifications, executive capacity of key staff of the cooperative are still inadequate, lack of management human resources and trained workers. The development of collective economy has not really balanced and harmonized among sectors and fields, the number of cooperative groups, cooperatives and cooperatives unions has mainly focused on the agricultural sector.
The organization of cooperatives has many shortcomings such as financial revenue and expenditure management of some cooperatives is not really transparent; the number of cooperatives with offices is small; cooperatives have not been eligible to bank loans, so they cannot expand their production scale;etc.
After listening to the report on the operation of the collective and cooperative economy, the delegates focused on discussing and proposing solutions to develop them in the coming time.
Delegates speaking at the meeting
In the concluding speech at the meeting, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee - Huynh Van Son highly appreciated the efforts of the Steering Committee for innovation and development of collective and cooperative economy of the province as well as the departments, branches and localities in the development of collective and cooperative economy in the past time.
He suggested that members of the Steering Committee at all levels and relevant agencies identify the development of collective and cooperative economy as a key task; focus on implementing tasks and solutions to develop the collective and cooperative economy assigned by the province; strive to achieve the targets set out in 2023 such as establishing 15 cooperatives and 30 cooperative groups, with at least 35% of cooperatives performing well; more than 50% of cooperatives participate in value chain linkages, applying high technology in production, etc.
At the same time, these units has to pay attention to training cooperative managers; building production linkage models to create quality products; promptly reporting and advising the province on policies and solutions to overcome difficulties to promote the development of collective and cooperative economy in the coming time.
The People's Committees of districts, towns and cities that have not yet established a Steering Committee must promptly establish; boldly dissolve ineffective cooperatives;etc./.
