Long An allocates 5 billion VND to support children
Long An Provincial Child Protection Fund has mobilized many resources for children, especially children in special circumstances. As a result, in the first 9 months of the year, the Fund mobilized over 1 billion VND to give gifts, support heart surgery, provide free medical examination and medicine distribution, and so on for poor children.
Children in especially difficult circumstances are received gifts on the occasion of Mid-Autumn Festival
In addition, the provincial budget is allocated to support and care for children living in especially difficult circumstances and those at risk of falling into special circumstances, with a total amount of 5 billion VND.
In particular, in the first 9 months of 2019, the provincial budget spent over 2.7 billion VND on child support and care activities; including 150 scholarships, 3,000 notebooks and 50 gifts on the occasion of Action Month for Children with the total amount of 203 million VND. The province donated 150 gifts to children in especially difficult circumstances at the provincial Children's Forum with the total amount of nearly 45 million VND; donated 4,000 Mid-Autumn Festival gifts to children in especially difficult circumstances with a total amount of over 1.6 billion VND, etc.
Thanks to the above activities, children in the province have conditions for comprehensive physical and mental development.

Currently, the province has over 360,000 children under 16 years of age, accounting for 23.64 percent of the total population. Of these, there are over 2,700 children in special circumstances and over 13,500 children are at risk of falling into special circumstances./. |
