Long An economic growth reaches 9.89 percent in first 6 months of 2019

Long An Provincial People's Committee informed that Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) in the province in the first 6 months of 2019 reached 9.89 percent. Particularly, Group I (agriculture, forestry and fishery) increased by 2.17 percent (the same period in 2018 increased by 4.82 percent); group II (industry and construction) increased by 14.65 percent (the same period in 2018 increased by 15.11 percent); group III (trade and services) increased by 7.5 percent (the same period in 2018 increased by 7.42 percent).

Compared to the economic growth rate of the same period in 2018, that rate in the first 6 months of 2019 was lower but still reached the plan.

The economic growth rate of the first 6 months in 2019 showed that leaders of the provincial People's Committee have well-implemented the Resolution of the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Council and the plan for socio-economic development of 2019 over the past time. All-level authorities, sectors and people in the province focus on implementing and promoting advantages and efforts to overcome difficulties and achieve positive results. With this achievement, the province has many advantages. It is forecasted in 2019 that the province will reach and exceed the economic growth target as plan set by 9.6 percent.

In the last 6 months of 2019, the Provincial People's Committee proposed the provincial departments, People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to focus on well performing tasks and solutions to promote production and business, striving to achieve the increase higher than the plan. In particular, the province focuses on implementing the administrative reform solutions well; remove difficulties, accelerate the disbursement of public investment capital; improve the efficiency of tax administration.

Particularly, provincial leaders asked the Department of Planning and Investment, Department of Industry and Trade, Economic Zone Authorities, and so on to continue to monitor the enterprises’ production and business situation; timely solve difficulties in production and business, especially large enterprises, export enterprises of key products of the province, promote production development./.
