At the ceremony, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut reviewed the Victory of Hiep Hoa battle and the process of building and developing the province. Chairman of Provincial People's Committee said that Long An is a land with a rich history and culture and an important strategic position in the defence of the Fatherland. The victory in the Hiep Hoa battle in 1963 was the result of solidarity, consistency and high fighting spirit between the army and people of Long An; opening a glorious chapter in the history of the resistance war against America to save the country by the army, people and Party Committee of Long An province.

Inheriting and promoting the spirit of victory at Hiep Hoa battle, the Party Committee, army and people of Long An continued to win important victories in the resistance war against US imperialism, was awarded the title "Brave and resilient, the entire people fighting the enemy" by the Central Committee of the National Front for the Liberation of South Vietnam at the 2nd Congress of Heroes and Emulation Soldiers throughout the South on September 17, 1967, contributing together with the whole country to successfully complete the national liberation revolution, gaining independence and freedom for the Fatherland.

Since the day of national unification, under the dynamic, innovative and creative leadership of the Provincial Party Committee, Long An has continuously strived to rise and achieved many important achievements in various fields.

Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut emphasized: "I respectfully thank the close attention and direction of the leaders of the Party, State and central ministries and branches that have helped the province achieve achievements today.

I call on all officials, party members, armed forces and people in the province, and the people of Long An who are living, working and studying in other provinces and abroad to continue promoting the tradition of the heroic revolutionary homeland, joining forces, striving to overcome all difficulties and challenges, to comprehensively and deeply promote the reform process, to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and the 11th Provincial Party Congress, building an increasingly rich and beautiful homeland, for a prosperous and cilvilized Vietnam."

At the same time, he acknowledged, honored and congratulated the achievements of Long An Provincial Party Committee in the past period.

Secretary of Party Central Committee and Head of the Central Propaganda Department affirmed that the resistance war against the US to save the country, especially the victory at Hiep Hoa battle, was the period when the revolutionary heroic qualities of the people of Long An were fully and clearly highlighted.

He wishes that future generations continue to promote revolutionary traditions, promote industrialization and modernization, and build the homeland of Long An to become increasingly rich and beautiful.

Besides, Long An must promote the great solidarity of the entire nation, maximize the potential and advantages of the province to promote economic transformation towards industrialization and modernization associated with urbanization.

In addition, the province need to develop the economy associated with social justice and protection of natural resources and the environment; closely combining economic development with ensuring national defense and security, strengthening foreign affairs activities, improving the material and spiritual life of the people, creating a breakthrough for Long An province to develop rapidly and sustainably.
