Kien Tuong Town was established on the basis of separating the administrative boundaries of Moc Hoa district according to Resolution No. 33, dated March 18, 2013 of the Government. Immediately after its establishment, the town determined its economic development to be trade - services, industry - construction and agriculture.

This achievement also affirms the correct direction of the Party Committee, government and people of the town as determined in the Resolution of the Town Party Congress for the 2020-2025 term.

At the same time, it makes an important contribution to the socio-economic development strategy associated with ensuring national defense - border security, synchronous development, and connecting the urban system of Long An province. This is also a very important premise for Kien Tuong town to develop into a provincial city in the near future.
