Long An: New path for tourism opened
Long An has many interesting attractions for tourism but there are still certain limitations in tourism exploitation and development. Therefore, this "smokeless industry" needs to be opened a new path for its potential and strengths to be exploited and promoted effectively.

Long An has a favorable geographical position, connecting Ho Chi Minh city to other provinces and cities in the Mekong River Delta. The province has a long border to the Kingdom of Cambodia, with international and national border gates, transport infrastructure systems of roads and waterways are relatively complete, etc. These are favorable conditions in the trade as well as tourism development.
Long An has many attractive destinations for tourists
Long An is also a land rich in historical and cultural traditions with 111 historical and cultural relics (21 national monuments and 90 provincial monuments); 2 national treasures; 5 intangible cultural heritage at the national level; over 200 festivals with different sizes and properties; 10 types of traditional arts, 18 traditional careers. In addition, this peaceful and poetic land also has many sites where rivers and water have entered poetry; at the same time, there are attractive tourism destinations with bold characteristics, "attracting" visitors once coming.
On the journey, visitors to Long An can admire the beauty of ancient houses across 3 regions at Phuoc Loc Tho Ancient Village Resort, located in Huu Thanh commune, Duc Hoa district. Cultural space of 3 regions with typical features and scenes of buying and selling activities in traditional markets, floating markets in Happyland tourism Park (in Thanh Duc commune, Ben Luc district) are also attractive destinations for visitors. On weekends, my family often goes to Tan Lap Floating Village because the air here is cool and fresh. Long An needs to build specific tourism products to develop tourism
Potential has not been exploited
Long An has many conditions to develop tourism but this "smokeless industry" is currently not promoted all its strengths and potential to "take off".
According to the assessment, Long An tourism is still "struggling" with many problems. There are relatively many destinations but they still lack the associated services; typical tourism products have not been formed yet; main operating sites and attractions are separated; the link and connection for tour and travel routes are still difficult problems for state management agencies as well as tourism agencies, etc.
Mr. Pham Quoc Khanh, a representative of Happyland Tourism Park, said: “Recently, the unit has advertised and promoted tourism, therefore, the number of tourists visiting this site has increased so far. However, we realize that the number of arrivals is currently not stable, still low compared to the request. We look forward to the local support, promotion, links with other localities to bring the image of the land and Long An people to many tourists”.
According to the representative of Tan Lap Floating Village Ecotourism Area, the area has been invested, renovated a lot, increased advertisement and promotion to attract tourists. The number of visitors has increased compared to the previous time, especially on weekends. However, the resort still wants to continue to be supported by the local connection to advertise, promote and introduce images to domestic and foreign tourists.
New direction
Director of Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism - Nguyen Anh Dung informed that Long An tourism has gained more progress in recent years. Images of the land and Long An people are known by many friends. The number of tourists is increasing, the quality of service on the site and attractions are increasing. However, the province's tourism still has certain limitations, unable to bring into full play its inherent potentials and strengths.

Long An orientates and strives to 2020, tourism will contribute positively to the socio-economic development of the province and become the leading satellite tourism destination of Ho Chi Minh city in the Mekong River Delta tourism area with the featured image of Vam Co rivers on the base of Dong Thap Muoi ecological landscape and Happyland entertainment and recreation area.
The province continues to pay attention to investing, embellishing tourist sites and putting into operation new tourism activities to attract domestic and foreign tourists; promote the calling for investment, exploiting services for visitors; At the same time, businesses are called to invest in other services.
In exploiting potentials, Long An is interested in tourism promotion and advertisement in various forms, especially promoting cooperation and developing cooperation with localities in clusters, regions and Ho Chi Minh City. Besides, the province focuses on promoting tourism; promoting to call for investment, training tourism skills and exchanging experience in state management of tourism, coordinating the development of new tourism products, tours, new routes to create an attraction for tourists, etc.
“With orientations and strategies along with favorable location, rich and diverse tourism resources, fairly concentrated distribution of tourism resource sites, road transport systems and conditions relating to tourism development in Long An has significantly been improved over time, and so on.
