Long An to be divided into 60 communes and wards

Regarding the work of restructuring the apparatus and reorganizing commune-level administrative units, the Standing Committee of Long An Provincial Party Committee has just approved a plan to reorganize to 60 units, reducing nearly 70% compared to the present time.

According to this plan, Long An will rearrange 186 existing commune-level administrative units into 60 communes and wards (4 wards and 56 new communes, including 9 border communes).

​Tan An City will be rearranged into 3 wards. The name Long An will be given to the center ward of the province, along with 2 other wards: Tan An and Khanh Hau.

The name Kien Tuong will be given to a central ward. The names of 12 districts: Tan Hung, Vinh Hung, Moc Hoa, Duc Hoa, Duc Hue, Tan Thanh, Thanh Hoa, Thu Thua, Ben Luc, Tan Tru, Can Giuoc, Can Duoc will be retained to name the new central commune after the rearrangement.

As for the name of Chau Thanh, because it coincides with the name of Chau Thanh district, Tay Ninh province, the name Tam Vu will be used to name the central commune of this area.

​It is expected that the plan to arrange 60 new wards and communes of Long An will be organized by localities to collect opinions from people and voters this week.
