Promote bilateral cooperation

In August 2022, the Provincial People's Committee held a conference on trade connection between provincial enterprises and Korean enterprises. Enterprises shared information on bilateral cooperation in various fields, researched the market as well as sought investment opportunities, commercial cooperation, and product distribution.

According to Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Minh Lam, the conference has created a premise to continue to open up many cooperation opportunities between the province's enterprises and Korean enterprises in the coming time. This is a practical activity towards the 30^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Korea. This event created a connection and exchange of information on investment projects and signed specific cooperation agreements to promote cooperation of Korean investors in the province.

He affirmed that the province would determine to renew its thinking and change the working style of the whole political system with the consistent view that "the people are the object to be served, enterprises are the driving force and resource for development". The province is always ready to welcome and create the most favorable conditions for investors in general and Korean investors in particular to cooperate and develop stably and successfully in Long An.

Over the past time, the province has implemented many programs to develop cooperative relationships with Korean localities, organizations and enterprises in various fields, especially bilateral economic cooperation. Currently, Korea is the 2nd country among 36 countries and territories that have invested in the province with a total registered capital of over 870 million USD.

In October 2022, the Provincial People's Committee held a signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement between the Department of Health and Wonkwang University Hospital (Korea). The two units agreed to regularly exchange in treatment and human resource training in the health sector. It is known that Wonkwang University Hospital has 12 specialized patient centers, 38 therapeutic departments and the most advanced medical systems such as Da Vinci robotic surgery, state-of-the-art CT machines, etc. It is the top unit in the hospital system in Korea.

At the signing ceremony, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Nguyen Van Ut emphasized that the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Department of Health and Wonkwang University Hospital is a very meaningful activity. In particular, 2022 is the year to organize activities to celebrate the 30^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Korea. He hoped that the initial implementation in the medical field would be a premise for the province and Wonkwang University Hospital to expand cooperation in the coming time.

Lots of activities leading up to the anniversary

According to the Provincial People's Committee, it is expected that in early December 2022, the Industry and Trade Fair in the Mekong Delta - Long An will have a scale of about 350 stalls, of which Kocharm Long An has 12 booths. The fair is an opportunity for businesses in the region to exchange, connect and seek trade promotion opportunities to connect investment, production and business; develop trade between localities, domestic enterprises, especially provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region and Korean enterprises.

This activity aims to promote the image, potential and strengths of the localities; introduce typical products of provinces and cities in the country to customers; promote the development of the domestic market; effectively implement the campaign Vietnamese prioritizing Vietnamese goods. This is an opportunity to know the needs and tastes of customers in order to improve product quality, develop new products, and support enterprises to improve their competitiveness in domestic and foreign markets to take the initiative in the process of international integration.

In addition, the 30^th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea also includes activities such as sending congratulatory letters; exchanging images on tourism promotion, investment promotion to post on the websites of the two provinces, investment promotion to be posted on the websites of the two provinces; exchanging delegations, sending congratulatory messages to the leaders of Chungcheongnam province and the Korean Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City. The province also held online investment promotion seminars and conferences with representative agencies, organizations, associations, investors, large corporations and Korean enterprises. The province also visited and worked with Korean investors and provincial leaders in Long An. The province also organized the delegations to promote investment, connect localities and cooperate in key areas to attract investment in Korea.

The friendship, exchange and cooperation relations between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea have achieved many achievements in the fields of politics - diplomacy, economy - society, culture - education, etc. In the future, this good relationship will be continuously strengthened and expanded./.
