Connecting and cooperating to promote agricultural product consumption
In recent times, Long An province has always focused on promoting linkages, cooperation in production and consumption of agricultural products; strengthening trade promotion, supporting the search for output markets for agricultural products.
In particular, the province has strengthened connections, introductions, and linkages in production and consumption cooperation with other provinces and Ho Chi Minh City to promote agricultural product consumption; focusing on developing a clean and safe agricultural product supply chain into Ho Chi Minh City's modern distribution channels (supermarkets, shopping centers, clean product store chains, etc).
According to the Department of Industry and Trade, there are currently many large enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City investing in factories, production facilities, and developing distribution facilities, helping to effectively connect and cooperate from purchasing, consuming products, and stabilizing the local market.
Trade promotion activities, trade connection and consumption linkage of the province's products with the Ho Chi Minh City market take place regularly, with an average of 5-10 events/year. These are large, specialized and international events, helping businesses promote their products and develop exports.
In addition, the Department of Industry and Trade and the Ho Chi Minh City Trade and Investment Promotion Center regularly inform, introduce and connect the goods sources of enterprises in the province with domestic and foreign units and enterprises in need in many fields of goods, logistics, etc; support enterprises in the province to participate in trade promotion programs abroad according to the Ho Chi Minh City's program; coordinate implementation, facilitate enterprises to participate in the Ho Chi Minh City market stabilization program as well as promptly orient and inform regulations on food safety control when supplying goods to the Ho Chi Minh City market.
Many agricultural products of the province participate in and maintain supply to distribution channels in Ho Chi Minh City such as Binh Dien wholesale market about 200 tons/night; Hoc Mon wholesale market about 140-160 tons/night, supermarkets, restaurants, and convenience store chains in Ho Chi Minh City.

Along with that, in recent times, the Department has maintained regular contact with distribution systems such as Co.opMart, Go!, San Ha, Tu Son supermarket (An Giang province), wholesale markets, etc to connect consumption, increase the purchase of local agricultural products. Up to now, enterprises and cooperatives in the province have implemented 282 contracts to supply goods with enterprises in other provinces and Ho Chi Minh City.
In addition, the province also supports enterprises in applying information technology and e-commerce in production and business activities, helping to promote brands, develop markets, and develop e-commerce transactions on reputable e-commerce platforms.
Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade - Chau Thi Le informed: The Department has signed a memorandum of understanding with EB Services Company Limited - representative of Central Retail and OSB Technology - representative of Alibaba.com e-commerce platform on researching and implementing projects in the province, promoting trade, connecting the consumption of goods of the province to the distribution system of enterprises.
Up to now, 24 enterprises of the province have cooperated with Central Retail Vietnam; 30 enterprises of the province have participated in the cross-border e-commerce platform Alibaba.com. Central Retail supports enterprises of the province to participate in the Vietnamese Goods Week at the Central Retail Group's Trade Center in Thailand.

Improving product quality and traceability
According to the Deputy Head of the Provincial Department of Rural Development and Irrigation - Tran Thi Mong Thuy, in addition to typical rural industrial products, by the end of August 2024, the whole province had 210 products recognized as meeting OCOP product standards (47 4-star, 163 3-star products).
In addition, the whole province also has 197 cooperatives operating with more than 5,600 members. The cooperatives contribute significantly to better exploiting the potentials and advantages in each locality. Thereby spreading the products to the markets inside and outside the province.

On the other hand, in order to ensure the quality, safety and transparency of products and goods, the Department of Science and Technology has completed the management system of product and goods traceability in Long An province and put it into operation at txng.longan.gov.vn and the Long An origin traceability application on the smartphone application store. The system is also connected to the National Product and Goods Traceability Portal.
