Long An province is strengthening inspection and review of investment project progress
As a result, Long An province's functional sector has issued 30 decisions on administrative sanctions due to project not meeting targets, being behind schedule, not reporting investment activities, etc with a total fine of 2.1 billion VND.
In addition, the provincial functional sector has inspected the operation of 18 enterprises in the districts of Duc Hoa, Can Duoc, and Can Giuoc according to plan. Since the beginning of 2024, the province has revoked 14 FDI projects and 12 DDI projects.
The inspection and supervision aim to strengthen state management of projects using non-budgetary investment capital to fully supplement information and data for projects; urge and accelerate project implementation progress and enhance the responsibility of local authorities for the management and close monitoring of investment projects in the area.
The inspection and supervision help promptly grasp difficulties and obstacles, support investors to remove barriers, thereby promoting project implementation progress in 2024, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province. The plan also aims to implement current legal regulations related to the investment sector, enhance transparency and responsibility in project management.
Previously, according to the plan of the Department of Planning and Investment, from May 2024 to the end of 2024, inspection and supervision will be conducted on 167 projects using non-budgetary capital that are behind schedule (more than 24 months) compared to the approved policy. The projects are mainly concentrated in the districts: Duc Hoa with 61 projects, Ben Luc with 31 projects, Chau Thanh with 16 projects, Can Giuoc with 10 projects, etc./.
