Increase income, reduce production costs
As Tet approaching, Mr. Le Thanh Binh (Thanh Hung commune, Kien Tuong town, Long An province) is very excited because last year was a successful year for farmers. The joy is not only because the price of rice has increased and farmers have great profits, but also because the productivity and quality of rice are increasingly improving. According to Mr. Binh, in the past, farmers still produced using traditional methods, with low rice productivity. Not only that, traders also squeezed prices in harvest seasons. “However, in recent years, the Agriculture sector and local authorities have promoted the transfer of science and technology and built high-tech rice production areas, which people have applied to bring more stable productivity than before.” - Mr. Binh shared.
The application of scientific and technical advances in production helps reduce costs and increase income for farmers
The effectiveness of applying high technology to agricultural production gradually changes the way of thinking and working for farmers. More importantly, it has been shaping a sustainable agricultural production. In order for the breakthrough program to be effective, along with propaganda and transfer of science and technology to farmers, the town also focuses resources on investing in irrigation projects to serve production such as dredging canals, electric pumping station systems, dikes, focusing on forms of production cooperation as well as building effective agricultural cooperatives.
