On October 25, Deputy Director of the Department of Transport - Nguyen Thanh Ngoan said: "The Department of Transport proposes the functional departments to consider and propose the provincial People's Committee to double the annual capital allocation for the maintenance and repair of roads and waterways in the province”.
According to the Department of Transport, in 2019, the transport funding allocated 72 billion VND for the management, maintenance and repair of roads and inland waterways in the province (an increase of 4,5 billion VND compared to previous years). However, this funding source did not meet the need for maintenance and repair.
For that reason, the Department of Transport requested the Provincial People's Committee to increase the annual capital allocation for management, maintenance and repair from 72 billion VND to at least nearly 150 billion VND per year./.
