On October 1, Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee - Pham Van Canh and relevant departments and agencies had a meeting with the People's Committee of Can Giuoc district, Dutch Water Supply Company Limited (Dutch Company) and Joint Stock Company of Can Giuoc Urban Construction on water supply for Can Giuoc town.

According to the People's Committee of Can Giuoc district, over the past time, the district is still looking for solutions to address the people’s demand for drinking water in town due to the current water quality is not guaranteed for eating and drinking that affects people's health.
Currently, the water demand for the people in town is about 3,000-3,500 cubic meters per day and night. In particular, the water sourced from Can Duoc Water and Environment Company is about 2,000 cubic meters per day and night; Netherlands Company is about 1,200 cubic meters per day and night; clean water is basically supplied in the town.
However, due to the deterioration of the pipeline network, a large amount of water is lost, especially in the dry season when the water demand of the people increases.
For urging Ha Lan Company and Joint Stock Company of Can Giuoc Urban Construction to sign a contract on water purchase and sale, up to now, the two companies have not yet implemented it due to the agreement on some terms of the contract. In particular, the Joint Stock Company of Can Giuoc Urban Construction said that the Dutch Company does not agree to attach meters that use mechanical meters. At the meeting, Dutch Company agreed to attach meters in according to the request of the Joint Stock Company of Can Giuoc Urban Construction.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Pham Van Canh said that the terms of the contract between Ha Lan Company and Joint Stock Company of Can Giuoc Urban Construction have been resolved, he requested two companies to sign the contract on October 2. On October 4, Department of Natural Resources and Environment coordinated with Can Giuoc District People's Committee and Joint Stock Company of Can Giuoc Urban Construction to stop working the water well of the Joint Stock Company of Can Giuoc Urban Construction.
Department of Health, Department of Natural Resources and Environment guides Can Duoc Water and Environment Company, Dutch Company to carry out procedures as prescribed to ensure water quality for Can Giuoc town.
Joint Stock Company of Can Giuoc Urban Construction plans to replace the damaged pipeline system to ensure adequate water supply for the people. The People's Committee of Can Giuoc District, in coordination with the Joint Stock Company of Can Giuoc Urban Construction, informs the people about the time to flush pipes and the time for water supply so that people are active in daily life and production./.
