In 2023, the Committee for the Advancement of Women and Gender Equality at all levels carried out many meaningful activities and achieved important results. Communication works related to gender equality and women advancement have been promoted, raising people's awareness, gradually creating changes in the thinking and actions of people in all walks of life.

Last year, the educational and professional qualifications of the female staff were increasingly improved. The number of female officials participating in leadership of party committees and authorities is increasing, demonstrating gender equality. The role of women is increasingly affirmed as they participate in more social activities, taking care of the legitimate and legal interests of women.

In particular, the results of the election of National Assembly deputies for the 2021-2026 term; Party committees for the 2020 - 2025 term show that women advancement work has received attention from Party committees, authorities and people. In the 2021-2026 term, there are 3 female comrades elected to the National Assembly out of a total of 8 comrades, reaching 37.5%, an increase of 25% compared to the previous term. The Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term has 736 women out of a total of 3,069 members, accounting for 23.9%, an increase of 3.36% compared to the previous term.

The number of female officials holding leadership and State management positions at the provincial level with key female leaders in provincial departments, branches and unions is 24/126 comrades, accounting for 19%. There are 5 female comrades holding the positions of sector head/department director and equivalent; 18/37 agencies and units have female key officers, reaching 4864%.

At the conference, delegates discussed, contributed opinions and listened to reports from units and localities.

To continue to well perform activities for the advancement of women and gender equality, Vice Chairman of Provincial People's Committee, Head of Committee for the Advancement of Women - Pham Tan Hoa proposed that in the coming time, the Committee for the Advancement of Women, agencies, units, localities and members of the Provincial Women's Progress Committee continue to thoroughly grasp the resolutions, directives, plans and instructions of the Central Government and the province on supporting women; at the same time, continue to implement the goals and targets of the National Strategy on gender equality in the province for the period 2021 - 2030.

In addition, related sectors need to promote propaganda work on the Party's policies and guidelines, and the State's policies and laws on gender equality; for the advancement of women, preventing and responding to gender-based violence in many diverse forms to raise awareness of the entire society on gender equality and women advancement.
