An Luc Long recognized as new-style rural commune

An Luc Long Commune, Chau Thanh District in the Mekong Delta province of Long An held ceremony to receive the title of new-style rural & cultural commune, yesterday on January 13.

Deputy Standing Secretary of Long An Party Committee Do Huu Lam, Chairman of Long An People’s Committee Tran Van Can, Vice Chairman of Long An People’s Council Nguyen Minh Lam and Chairwoman of the provincial Father front Committee Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hanh and Deputy Chairman of People’s Committee Pham Van Canh attended the ceremony.

An Luc Long is agriculture commune locating in upper land area of Chau Thanh District.  Before implementing the national target program for building cultural & new-style rural commune, An Luc Long has still faced many difficulties as per-capita income reached VND 29 million per person per year.

Over past 4 years, the commune completed some criteria in building it to be new-style rural one.

As a result, local people joined actively in contributing land, money to build new-style rural model. The commune spent VND 185 billion in building new-style rural cultural program, of these; local people contributed VND 77billion.

To date, all commune- level roads have been cemented, ensuring safe travel demand of the locals. 100 percent of households have electricity, clean water and per-capita income of up to VND 48 million per person per year.

In addition, the commune’s authority has recognized as strong one for many years.

Chairman Tran Van Can praised the commune’s efforts requiring that An Luc Long Commune should continue to develop its criteria, lifting the material and spiritual living standards of local people.

At the ceremony, individuals and organizations received certificates of merit./.
