Can Giuoc Bridge is expected to be inaugurated on August 30, 2023
The bridge across the Can Giuoc river (connecting the two banks of Phuoc Lai commune and Can Giuoc town, Long An province) is an important project of the Party Committee, government and people of Can Giuoc district. This is also a key work of the Resolution of 12th District Party Congress, term 2020-2025.
Mr. Nguyen Van Trieu (Phuoc Lai commune) said that he was very happy hearing that the Can Giuoc bridge is about to be completed. For generations, people in the district have encountered many inconveniences when traveling by Tan Thanh ferry, connecting the two banks of Can Giuoc town and Phuoc Lai commune. This project meets the expectations of all residents, thereby creating a new look, making an important contribution to the socio-economic development of the locality.
Chairman of Can Giuoc District People's Committee - Nguyen Anh Duc said that at present, the traffic connection by road between the upper and lower areas of the district is still limited, with only one connection point on Provincial Road 830 crossing Thu Bo bridge connecting Long An and Long Phung communes.
The location is far from the central area of the district, making inter-regional connectivity limited, making it difficult to travel, trade and transport goods. The current and long-term operation of Tan Thanh ferry port cannot meet the needs of local development. There is also a potential risk of traffic accident, especially in the rainy and stormy seasons.
Can Giuoc Bridge is completing the last items
Therefore, this project is extremely meaningful. After completion, the bridge will concretize the orientation of traffic development planning of the province and district; ensure a continuous and smooth road traffic connection from the district center to the lower areas, reducing traffic pressure through Thu Bo bridge.
In addition, the project will help to increase trade and transport of goods between regions in the district, contributing to building a synchronous transport infrastructure system, serving industrial and urban development, creating a premise for the district to develop quickly and sustainably as the key economic region of the province.
Deputy Director in charge of Project Construction Management Board of Can Giuoc district - Tran Vo Tri Nhan informed that the total length of the bridge is 417m, the total width is 8m, the path leading to the bridge has a total length of 184m, the axle can load 10 tons, with asphalt pavement and lighting system with a total investment captital of 150 billion VND from the local budget.
At the construction site, the working atmosphere is bustling, urgent and serious. In order to ensure the progress according to the plan, workers work overtime at night. Up to now, the work has been basically completed and is expected to be inaugurated on August 30, 2023.
According to Secretary of Can Giuoc District Party Committee - Truong Thanh Liem, for the 2020-2025 term, the district Party Committee has oriented to create a breakthrough to a new stage of development. In particular, the investment in transport infrastructure is considered as one of the optimal solutions. The district pays special attention to building, upgrading and expanding bridges and roads in the area in order to better serve the travel and freight needs of the people.
With the motto "Public investment to generate private investment", to synchronously connect at all localities in the district and the area adjacent to Ho Chi Minh City, the district proactively proposed the Provincial People's Committee for permission to self-balance investment budget for the Can Giuoc bridge as well as a number of other key traffic works./.
