Chairman of Long An People's Committee - Tran Van Can checks the prevention and control of Covid-19 epidemic at the border area

On April 6, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Tran Van Can and representatives of departments and agencies came to inspect the prevention and control of Covid-19 epidemic at border guard station on duty on borderline of Tan Hung district, Vinh Hung district and Kien Tuong towns. At the same time, he directly visited and encouraged to officials and soldiers on duty at the check-points for epidemic prevention and control.

In the spirit of "fighting against epidemics like fighting against the enemy", the units developed plans to coordinate with localities in Covid-19 prevention and control over the past time; closely monitored the health of soldiers and people. At the same time, they organized 24/24 border checkpoints and strengthening patrols and control both day and night, ensured strict management on the borderline, resolutely preventing cross-border intrusion activities. 

The units also perform body temperature measurements and mandatory medical declarations for all cases of entry into Vietnam; well disinfect, ensure face masks, hand-washing water and necessary medical equipment for officials and soldiers.

Through the inspection, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Tran Van Can highly appreciated the coordination of the Border Guard force in controlling and closely supervising the entry/exit activities in the areas of border gates, barricades and trails and open paths.

 Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - Tran Van Can emphasized: “Preserving the border is a sacred duty. To ensure the safety of the border areas, at this time, the units should strictly follow the Directive 16/CT-TTg of the Prime Minister, the official telegraph No. 1665/CD-UBND of the Provincial People's Committee; do not be subjective, neglect, continue to drastically implement measures to prevent and control diseases, and be determined not to let epidemics spread between our country and neighbouring country and vice versa. Units need to ensure health care work, be ready to proactively respond to any situation. The Border Guards should strengthen to prevent smuggling; resolutely administratively sanctioned and sent to quarantine cases of illegal entry".

On this occasion, the provincial leadership delegation sent financial support to the units to motivate the spirit of the on-duty force on the borderline./.
