Accordingly, the delegation inspected two fixed animal quarantine checkpoints (one on Provincial Road 823, Duc Lap Thuong commune and one on Provincial Road 824, My Hanh Bac commune) and Tran Thi Bao Ngoc Transfer Station in My Hanh Bac commune, Duc Hoa district. According to statistics, from 2 to 4 vehicles averagely transport pigs through animal quarantine checkpoints with a total of over 500 pigs per day.

At each destination, the delegation inspected administrative procedures, records and papers related to the source, origin, animal quarantine papers, animal-keeping areas, etc. according to regulations. At the same time, the delegation reminded the inter-sector staff at animal quarantine checkpoints and owners of pig transfer stations to ensure that the source and origin of pigs must be clear, have adequate quarantine papers and comply with regulations and coordinate with functional agencies to promptly handle if epidemic is suspected. Vehicles transporting pigs and pork products without sufficient proof of source and origin and quarantine are absolutely not allowed to enter into the district.

Deputy Director of the provincial Division of Livestock, Veterinary and Fisheries - Duong Minh Phi proposed the Steering Committee for the prevention and control of ASF in Duc Hoa district should continue to coordinate the functional sectors to strengthen the inspection to check, supervise and do duty 24 hours per day at animal quarantine checkpoints, absolutely prevent all forms of trafficking and transporting pigs and illegal pork products into and out of the district. At the same time, the owners of transfer stations and pig collection points are asked to commit not to import pigs without papers proving their source and origin, especially pigs from the epidemic areas./.
