Housing more than 10,000 exhibits, the museum is part of a project of Trung Nguyen Legend coffee-maker corporation, which spans more than 45ha in the city.
It is part of the corporation’s goal to turn Buon Ma Thuot into the world’s coffee capital.
Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Hai Ninh claimed the inauguration of the museum marks the first activity of the 2019 Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Festival, which will be held on March 9-16, 2019.
In October, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development listed Vietnam’s 15 main farm produce staples, with coffee ranked second following rice.
Vietnam is currently the second largest coffee exporter of the world after Brazil. The country expects to export 1.7 million tonnes of the product this year, earning about 3.5 billion USD, according to the Vietnam Coffee – Cocoa Association./.
