Still facing complicated and unpredictable developments of the Covid-19 epidemic, the number of new cases in the country is still increasing, the previously formed field hospitals will have to return their old functions, especially the need to have treatment facilities for level 2 and 3. Therefore, to ensure that there are enough beds to treat Covid-19 patients on the level 2 and 3, according to Plan No. 3491/KH-TBĐDPĐTCSVC, the Department of Construction submits it to the Provincial People's Committee for the policy of renovating and repairing Dong Thap Muoi Regional General Hospital (old facility) to use as a field hospital for the treatment of Covid-19 patients, with a scale of 200 for 200 beds for level 3 and 100 beds for level 2.

The Provincial People's Committee has agreed on the renovation and repair as proposed by the Department of Construction. In particular, the Provincial People's Committee noted that the renovation and repair plan must clearly define the implementation schedule corresponding to each level of the epidemic in the province, avoiding waste in investment.

Regarding capital sources, the Provincial People's Committee also assigned the Department of Planning and Investment to take responsibility for and coordinate with the Department of Finance and related branches in considering, balancing and prioritizing the allocation of capital for implementation. The investor (Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board) will coordinate with relevant sectors to carry out procedures in accordance with law.

At the same time, the Department of Health directed Dong Thap Muoi Regional General Hospital and relevant agencies and units to have a plan to arrange for Covid-19 patients who are being treated, and temporarily move to another area to hand over the premises construction according to the implementation plan corresponding to each epidemic level and organize disinfection spraying and environmental sanitation of the construction area to ensure safety during the construction process./.
